Interlibrary Loan

If we don't own an item and we cannot borrow it from a library in our shared catalog, we will try our best to get it from another library in Illinois. You can come to the Library and request any item that interests you or you can fill out our request form.  Sometimes there is a fee to borrow items from other libraries.  If so, you will be notified of the fee before we order the item.

Interlibrary Loan Renewals

If you have an item checked out that was obtained using Interlibrary Loan there are factors that make renewing it different from renewing items that we own or that are owned by libraries that share our catalog.

There may be times when the staff person responsible for these renewals is unavailable.  If that happens, you have three options:

  • Call us at (847) 446-7220, ext. 615 and leave a message giving the information below.  We will then get back to you with the new due dates.  Please keep in mind that it may take several days to complete a renewal request because we cannot renew the item without the loaning library's permission.
  • E-mail us at eref@wpld.alibrary.com and provide the information below.  We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours, but again it will take several days to complete the renewal.
  • Print out this page, fill out the information below, and leave the completed information at the Reference Desk.  We will get back to you as soon as possible about your renewal request.
